Academic requirements
- Students who have completed two semesters at TF can apply for the student exchange
- Language Requirement
- All classes are offered in Japanese
- Undergraduate: We recommend having Japanese skills of the second level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test or equivalent
- Graduate: We recommend having Japanese skills of the first level of the Japanese
- Language Proficiency Test or equivalent
- However, if both the professor and student speak English, the student does not need to fulfill the Japanese Language skills requirement mentioned above.
- Curriculum Vitae (english style), typed in English
- Transcript of Records of the last two completed semesters
- Application Form
- Official certificate of language proficiency
- Two Letters of Recommendation from different Departments of TF addressed to the International Department of TF
- Verification of finances for the following expenses have to be covered by the student (Average living costs are estimated as follows. This is only a modest budget.)
- Utilities: ¥5000/month (including electricity, gas, water supplies)
- Food: ¥30,000/month
- Internet: ¥2,000 ~¥5,000/month (fee varies among dormitories)
- Transportation:
- from the University Dormitory
- to Setagaya Campus: ¥0 (about 15 minutes walk)
- to Machida Campus: ¥10,000/month (about 1 and half hour by train and bus)
- trom Outside Dormitories Leased by Kokushikan University
- to Setagaya Campus: ¥4,000/month (about 1 and half hour by train)
- to Machida Campus: ¥10,000/month (about 1 hour by train and bus)
- from the University Dormitory
- Health Insurance: ¥10,000/year
- Dormitory:
- University Dormitory or Outside Dormitories Leased by Kokushikan University
- a Room with fixtures and furnishings: bed, desk, chair, closet. No Futon or Mattress (needs to be prepared or purchased)
- Meal: not provided
- room fee: approx. ¥10,000 - ¥12,000 per month for student’ ’s responsibility (Kokushikan Univ. will cover the difference between total accommodation cost and student’s obligation cost, as a scholarship for the exchange student)
- Utilities (includes electricity, gas, water supplies and communication): Student is fully responsible for them.
- Majors: Available in all departments and programs
