This is to inform you about the registration and enrolment for the 2nd semester of the Academic Year 2024/25.
Spring term: 1 February 2025 - 31 August 2025
Bank transfer of state scholarships: each month until the 10th of the relevant month. Students with state scholarships in years I-II receive a monthly scholarship of HUF 140 680, and students with state scholarships in years III-IV a monthly scholarship of HUF 180 680.
The call for the Prof. Dr. József Szécsényi University Doctoral Scholarship is to be published on 3rd of February, deadline of the submission 17th of February 2025.
I. Enrolment: from 10.00 20 January 2025 – 24.00 2 February 2025 in the Neptun system.
After the end of the enrolment period, the doctoral student may request the withdrawal of his/her active enrolment at the Doctoral Secretariat until 15 March 2025. After this deadline, a student in active status will remain active even if he/she does not attend the lectures and does not fulfil his/her study obligations. No subsequent passivation is possible after the deadline.
Late enrolment: between 4-6 February 2025, it is possible when paying a late enrolment fee of HUF 5 000.
Preconditions for enrolment:
1. the doctoral report must be submitted via Neptun system. The signature of the supervisor and the programme leader shall be also done in Neptun system.

2. financial debts, absence of financial arrears: if you have an overdue, outstanding debt, you cannot activate your semester!
The semester tuition fee will be charged in one lump sum in Neptun system after the enrolment period, until 16:00 on 6 February 2025
Deadline for payment of tuition fee (or first instalment): 28 February 2025
Applications for payment in instalments (in two parts) shall also be submitted until 24:00 on 2 February 2025 (Neptun: Applications - Request for payment in instalments). After that date, no application for payment in instalments can be submitted.
Request of exemption from/request for coverage of the tuition fee: requests may be submitted in Neptun system until 24:00 on 6 February 2025 (Neptun: Applications - selected application file). After that date, no request may be submitted.
Deadline for payment of the fee (or first instalment): 28 February 2025.
- For students who have been admitted before September 1, 2022, the application form "Doctoral School REQUEST FOR EQUITY BY THE RECTOR IN FINANCIAL MATTERS" must be submitted (to be submitted in each active semester).
- For students starting in semester 2022/23/1 or later, who do not yet have a study agreement (because they have not applied for one!), the request for "Doctoral School Request for Coverage of Tuition Fee" must be submitted.
- Students starting in semester 2022/23/1 or afterwards who already have a study agreement do not need to submit a new application and should proceed as follows:
- paying their part of the tuition fee by the deadline
- submitting the following documents to the Directorate-General for Economic Affairs:
- a printout of the invoice from Neptun system as proof of payment
- a copy of the study agreement
- a certificate of student status
- a request for reimbursement of the tuition fee paid less the social contribution regarding the study agreement
The Rector decides on the requests submitted based on a proposal by the HR Department and the Directorate-General for Economic Affairs. Following the decision, the HR Department will conclude a study agreement with the doctoral student. An application must be accompanied by the following annexes:
- a supporting statement from the head of department,
- a decision on the employment of the student or an employment certificate
The Rector will decide on the conclusion of the study agreement within 15 days of receipt of the request, and the Doctoral School will be informed of the decision. The conclusion of study agreements lies in the responsibility of the HR Directorate.
The part of the amount paid by the student, which is taken over by the employer in the study agreement, will be reimbursed to the student subsequently, reduced by the tax and social contributions as set by the applicable legislation.

- doctoral students who request for equity based on a cooperation agreement must submit the request form entitled REQUEST FOR RECTOR’S EQUITY IN PAYMENT OBLIGATION OF TUITION FEE BASED ON A COOPERATION AGREEMENT.
A doctoral student who fails to meet the deadline for payment of the tuition fee and who is not granted a deferment of payment will not be allowed to enrol for the current semester.
In the event of non-payment, the doctoral student shall be treated in accordance with Part 3 (Student Requirements System, Chapter IV on Allowances and Fees) of the Organisational and Operational Regulations, but with the difference that the Doctoral Secretariat shall act instead of the Registrar’s. The doctoral student may appeal against decisions concerning the termination of the doctoral student's status to the Review Committee within fifteen days of the date of notification or, failing this, of the date on which the doctoral student became aware of the decision.
II. Course registration: from 10.00 on 20 January 2025 till 24.00 on 7 February in the Neptun system
Please monitor the progress of your studies, because if you do not complete the required number of study credits (16) in the first two years, in the first four semesters of the doctoral programme, you will not be able to join the second stage of the doctoral programme, after the comprehensive examination, and enrol for the fifth semester!
