On the 13th and 14th of September 2011 the forthcoming meeting of the EU project „Volunteering in Sport” was organized in Cardiff, Wales.

Our Faculty was represented in the symposium by Nikoletta Onyestyák and Gábor Géczi, lecturers of the Department of Sport Management and Recreation, participating actively in the round table discussions.

On the first day of the meeting five local sport organizations presented their activity and challanges, afterwords the participants from eight different countries (Belgium, Cyprus, Finnland, Greece, Brandenburg, Slovakia, Wales and Hungary) discussed questions related to the club structures and their support. The main topic of the second day was the recruitment and leadership of the volunteers.

The next locations of the symposia will be Brandenburg in November, Cyprus in February, and the project will be concluded in Brussels in May, where the final report of the project will be presented in front of the European Committee.
