On the 6th and 7th of February 2012 the forthcoming meeting of the EU project “Volunteering in Sport” was organized in Larnaca, Cyprus.
Our Faculty was represented in the symposium by Nikoletta Onyestyák and Gábor Géczi, lecturers of the Department of Sport Management and Recreation, they participated again actively in the round table discussions.
On the first day of the meeting the participants, on the one hand, discussed questions related to the Cyprian sport, as the management of the sport federations and clubs in Cyprus, on the other hand the Cypriots presented the preparations for their forthcoming (second half of 2012) leadership in the EU. The third topic was the new EU study about the funding of grassroots’ sport.
The main topic of the second day was to review of the findings, conclusions, recommendations and legacies of the whole project, to finalize the report about the volunteering project work.
The next and last location of the symposia will be in Brussels (Belgium) in May 2012, and the project will be presented in front of the European Committee.
