From the 10th of July thirty elite coaches from India visited lectures in our Faculty. The purpose of their one-month tailor-made coaching programme was to deepen their knowledge in the planning and guidance of training. Moreover they learnt other competences that are related to coaching. They had lectures in training theory, general conditioning, about injuries, nutrition of athletes and about doping. They learnt how to use a training planning software, so they will be able to pass their knowledge in practice to their athletes. Furthermore the thirty students – who were selected by the Sports Authority of India – visited and monitored some trainings held in our institution during their stay. After the lectures they had to write some computer-based tests.
Their stay contained some fun parts, not only serious ones. Fortunately some great sport events were held in Hungary during their stay. So they went to the charity football match of the drivers of Formula 1 and the Hungarian All Stars, the Gyulai István Memorial Hungarian Grand Prix in track and field, and they had an unique experience on the VASAS-HÍD vs. AS Roma football match. Among the freetime programmes they had some non-sport related ones. They visited some Central-European capital cities (Budapest, Wien and Bratislava), and they went to the Hungarian countryside for a half-day.
After an intensive study period the participants received their degree on the 6th of August at the closing ceremony of the programme. After arriving home they sent us some really positice feedbacks, so it is pretty sure that we will go on with the next thirty students.
