MA in PE Teacher

The Master of Art in Physical and Health Education Teacher programme is a two and a half year full-time study programme. Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be qualified to teach both, Physical and Health Education subjects in primary and in secondary schools.

The Master of Art Programme offers students a unique opportunity for teacher qualification with advanced theoretical knowledge and research skills. The programme provides students with a strong conceptual grounding in human development, ethics, diversity, curriculum, teaching & learning, and methodology. The high level of academic rigour in conjunction with practicum and internship opportunities serves to enhance and extend the theoretical and practical experiences of students preparing to teach.

The Master of Art Programme objectives are achieved through a combination of course work, teaching and research seminars, internships and practicum. Students are required to take examinations, and to prepare a thesis, which must be defended in front of an Examination Board. The Master of Art Programme is to be completed with a Comprehensive State Exam.

Admission to the Programme

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences (TF) of Semmelweis University seeks for students with appropriate academic qualifications – Bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc) in Physical Education or related fields.

The deadline of application: 21th of June 25, 2010.

Application requirements

  1. Bachelor degree in Physical Education or related fields (duplicate or attested copy)
  2. Detailed curriculum vitae in English
  3. English language exam certificate (or attested copy)
  4. Official transcript (or attested copy) with an authorised English translation of academic records
  5. 4 photographs (passport size, signed at the back)
