On the 17th July Sergio Arnoldo Camargo Muralles, the president of the Olympic Committee of Guatemala and Lic. José Antonio Coro Garcia, the president of the Weightlifting Federation of Guatema visited our faculty. They were accompanied by three other guests from their country, among them the head of the sport committe of their parliament.
The visit was organised by Dr. Tamás Aján, the president of the International Weightlifting Federation and honorary member of the IOC. The Hungarian sportdiplomat has a great relationship with our Faculty where he earned his degree.
The visit had two pusposes. The delegates aimed to meet our dean to seek for some cooperation opportunities. On the other hand their aim was to get to know our faculty in depth. In this Dr. Tibor Kozsla, our Strategic and International Director helped them with his presentation about TF.
During his chat with our dean, Mr. Sergio Arnoldo Camargo Muralles said that he is not only the president of the NOC, but also the dean of the faculty of sport science in Galileo University. He told Dr. Miklós Tóth that they have a programme for South-American students in Spanish which is similar to the one that we run in cooperation with the IOC Olympic Solidarity. He offered a cooperation between the two faculties and his NOC related to the programmes.
Our dean and international director were pleased to have the opportunity to meet the delegates and they are open to start some cooperation with them in the near future.
