Volunteering in Sport, 4th workshop
2011. November 24, Thursday

On the 16th and 17th of November 2011 the forthcoming meeting of the EU project “Volunteering in Sport” was organized in Potsdam, Germany.

Our Faculty was represented in the symposium by Nikoletta Onyestyák and Gábor Géczi, lecturers of the Department of Sport Management and Recreation, participating actively in the round table discussions.

On the first day of the meeting the participants on the one hand discussed questions related to the different club structures and the ideal composition of the Board of Directors, and on the other hand compared their sport educational systems. A representative from the European Union presented about the actual sport financing opportunities in the EU, and the ongoing educational projects.

The main topic of the second day was the use of different IT tools, which might support the club management, as the online information system of the Brandenburg delegation and the online booking system of the Belgian partners. In the afternoon a P2P (partner to partner) speed dating was organized, within which further opportunities of cooperation appeared.

The next location of the symposia will be in Cyprus in February 2012, and the project will be concluded in Brussels in May, where the final report of the project will be presented in front of the European Committee.
